Addressing Scope 2 Emissions with Solar & Storage

Events all week
Join us for a thought-provoking webinar during Climate Action Week Sydney, Addressing Scope 2 Emissions with Commercial Solar and Storage. Hosted by Smart Commercial Solar and NetNada, this event will explore the vital role of renewable energy in tackling Scope 2 emissions. What You'll Gain This webinar will feature: • Scope 2 Insights – An overview of these emissions and their role in corporate sustainability strategies. • Case Studies – Real-world examples of businesses successfully adopting solar and BESS to reduce emissions. • Expert Panels – Insights from leaders at Smart Commercial Solar and NetNada on practical solutions. • Interactive Q&A – Engage with industry experts and gain tailored advice for your organisation. Who Should Attend? This webinar is ideal for sustainability professionals, energy managers, and business owners/managers focused on reducing their carbon footprints and energy costs. Whether you're beginning your sustainability journey or looking to scale your efforts, this session will equip you with actionable knowledge and strategies. More information What are Scope 2 Emissions? • Scope 2 emissions are the indirect greenhouse gas emissions generated by the electricity a business consumes. • For many organisations, they represent a significant proportion of their carbon footprint, especially if relying on fossil fuel-based grid energy. • Reducing Scope 2 emissions is a critical step for businesses aiming to achieve net-zero goals and meet rising expectations for climate responsibility. How Can Solar and Storage Reduce Emissions for Businesses? • Combining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with battery energy storage offers a powerful strategy to reduce Scope 2 emissions. o On-site solar generation reduces reliance on carbon-intensive grid electricity. o Battery storage ensures surplus energy is used efficiently, storing daytime generation for later use and increasing renewable energy utilisation. • Together, these technologies can dramatically cut emissions while supporting resilience and sustainability goals. About Smart Commercial Solar Smart Commercial Solar is a leader in designing and delivering renewable energy solutions for businesses. With expertise in solar PV systems and battery integration, they provide tailored systems that significantly reduce Scope 2 emissions. Their innovative approach helps businesses take control of their energy use while aligning with sustainability goals. The Cost of Living vs. Climate Change: Can We Afford to “Go Green”?

Events all week
In a world where the cost of living is soaring, and financial security feels increasingly out of reach, who has the luxury to "go green"? This panel will explore one of the most provocative and contentious debates of our time: how can people be expected to invest in sustainable technologies when economic pressures are higher than ever? We’ll tackle the question head-on: Is it even fair to ask consumers and businesses to bear the burden of upfront costs for solar panels, electric vehicles, and energy-efficient appliances in the name of sustainability? Or is there a path to a future where going green doesn’t have to mean financial sacrifice? The "green premium" – the cost of choosing climate-friendly options over cheaper, conventional choices – has long been a barrier. Yet, with advancements in technology, this premium is eroding, giving way to what some are calling a "green profit." What was once a financial strain may now be a means to long-term savings and even a competitive advantage. We’ll discuss game-changing examples like Patagonia, a company leading with purpose without sacrificing profit, and question if other companies can (or should) follow suit. Can they offer affordable, sustainable products without cutting corners on quality or hitting their bottom line? And what about those who can’t afford the green premium in the short term—are they left out of the sustainable future altogether? As we unpack these critical questions, our panel will consider whether businesses can truly balance affordability, quality, and sustainability, while also examining emerging innovations that promise to unlock green profits and deliver value. We’ll explore whether sharing renewable energy from rooftop solar through EV chargers, or innovative green financing, can shift the balance. Join us as we dive into the nuances of making sustainability work not only for the wealthy few but for everyone. We need a just energy transition where no one is left behind.
